Who sets these cookies
[legal entity name to be supplied] ([registered address to be supplied]) is responsible for the cookies and browser storage described here.
What we store in the browser
Skywing uses cookies and browser local and session storage for functions such as authentication, session and anonymous journey identifiers, diagnosis continuity, source attribution, purchase-intent continuity, email-banner state and some legacy preparation-tool progress.
Why it is used
These items keep you signed in, stop a diagnosis from being lost during signup, preserve the correct recommendation and purchase journey, avoid repeating interface prompts and support first-party journey measurement.
Categories we use
Cookies and similar browser storage fall into these categories. Only strictly necessary storage is set before you choose.
| Category | What it is for | Examples | Your consent | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep you signed in, keep the service secure and keep your diagnosis and purchase journey from being lost. | Login state, session and anonymous journey identifiers, diagnosis continuity, purchase-intent continuity, your cookie choices. | Not required. These cannot be switched off. | Until you sign out, the session ends, or you clear site data. |
| Preferences | Remember choices you make so you do not have to repeat them. | Dismissed banners, display settings, local progress in preparation tools. | Not required where the item only stores a choice you made to provide the feature you asked for; otherwise we ask first. | Until you change it or clear site data. |
| Analytics | Understand how pages and features are used so we can improve them, using PostHog and source attribution. | Pseudonymous page views, feature use, device and browser type, where you arrived from. | Opt-in. Off until you accept; you can withdraw at any time. | Until you withdraw consent or clear site data, or for the period set by the provider. |
| Marketing | Measure or personalize advertising. | None are currently used. | Opt-in. If we ever introduce them we will ask first and update this policy. | Not applicable. |
Managing your consent
Analytics and marketing storage are off by default. You can accept or decline them when you first visit, and change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the page footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect use of the service. We keep a record of your choice so that we can respect it.
Our lawful basis for analytics and marketing storage is your consent. Strictly necessary storage relies on our legitimate interest in providing the service you asked for.
Analytics and advertising
Skywing records first-party funnel events through its own backend. We do not describe these operational measurements as airline hiring scores, and they are not used by airlines.
Browser analytics from PostHog are optional and run only after you consent. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If advertising cookies or other third-party tracking tools are introduced, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Managing storage in your browser
You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Doing so may log you out, reset locally stored preparation-tool progress, or remove an unfinished guest diagnosis or purchase journey from that browser.
Legal framework
For visitors in the EEA and UK we follow the GDPR and the applicable rules on cookies and similar technologies: non-essential storage requires your prior consent.
For visitors in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia we apply the consent and transparency principles of the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law to optional analytics and marketing storage. See the Privacy Policy for your rights and for international transfers.
