Emirates publishes its cabin-crew criteria on the Emirates Group Careers website. This article sets out what that page asks for, as we last verified it on 12 September 2026, and what it does not tell you. Skywing is an independent preparation service and is not affiliated with Emirates.
What Emirates publishes
- Age: at least 21.
- Height: at least 160 cm.
- Arm reach: 212 cm.
- English: fluent written and spoken English.
- Education: at least Grade 12 or high-school education.
- Experience: at least 1 year of hospitality or customer-service experience.
- Appearance: no visible tattoos while in cabin-crew uniform.
- Work visa: you need to be able to qualify for a UAE employment visa. If you are unsure, this can need human verification.
How to read these requirements
Most of the list is a yes-or-no check: you either meet the age, height and reach figures or you do not, and no amount of preparation changes that on the day. The visa line is different, because it depends on your nationality and circumstances, and only the airline and the authorities can confirm it.
Measure before you apply
Height and reach are the two criteria candidates most often get wrong, because they estimate instead of measuring. Measure both carefully, then compare the result with the airline’s own wording. Our guide to the 212 cm arm reach explains what to look for.
What these requirements do not tell you
They do not tell you whether Emirates has a role open today, how many places there are or how applications are scored. Skywing does not track vacancies, open days or recruitment events, and we do not have access to any airline’s scoring. Requirements can also change, so confirm the current wording on the Emirates Group Careers page before you apply.
Where to go next
- The Emirates page shows the dated requirements table and application notes.
- The free diagnosis checks your own answers against the criteria and flags anything you need to clarify.
- If you are also considering a Dubai-based low-cost carrier, compare Emirates and flydubai.
